Trembling, Singing

SOLD OUT but BACK SOON

Trembling, Singing was inspired by the rainbow lore of the Mexican Nahua as it has been preserved in the sixteenth century Florentine Codex, which was collected and written by the Spanish friar Bernardino de Sahagún.

Trembling, Singing was originally published by Guillemot Press in 2020 as Singing / Breathing / Trembling, a three-volume signed limited edition box set with paintings by the author. For more information on the original production please visit here.

Jen Hadfield is a writer and visual artist based in Shetland. Jen has published three collections, Almanacs (Bloodaxe), Nigh No-Place (Bloodaxe) and Byssus (Picador), which have won prizes including the T.S. Eliot Prize, the Edwin Morgan International Poetry Award, and an Eric Gregory Award. Her fourth collection The Stone Age is due out with Picador in early 2021 and she is currently writing a book of essays about Shetland.

The Guillemot Offcuts series presents out of print work from some of our illustrated limited edition titles in a text-only format using paper offcuts left over from some of our other productions. This means you might see this title dressed in a range of different cover stocks. Not only does this series reduce paper waste but it also allows the poetry to remain visible in an affordable pamphlet edition. Note: The picture to the left does NOT reflect the actual colour of the title. The cover colour will vary depending on the stocks and offcuts are available at the time of printing.
