Isabel Galleymore — Cyanic Pollens
Cyanic Pollens
Based on her time as poet-in-residence in the Peruvian Amazon, Isabel Galleymore’s new sequence Cyanic Pollens explores a site of pristine nature and the demands we make of it, whether aesthetic or extractive. Spider monkeys and moths are subjects of intimate study – so, too, are tourists and their rainforest guides. This is new territory for Isabel, and she navigates it with a playful, but questioning eye.
Isabel Galleymore’s debut collection Significant Other (Carcanet) was shortlisted for the Forward Best First Collection Prize in 2019 and won the John Pollard Foundation International Prize in 2020. In 2017 she received an Eric Gregory Award. She lectures at the University of Birmingham.
Cyanic Pollens is printed on Mohawk Superfine papers with end papers from Fedrigoni and Wibalin. The cover illustration and handwritten text is by Ria Gunton.
